Snowmaking Begins, Building A Base

Snow Trails is excited to announce snowmaking begins for the 2013-'14 season! The winter forecast is favorable for full-power snowmaking! Our well pumps will run hard, as they replenish our snowmaking pond, to keep the thirsty giant of a Cooling Tower producing the coldest water known to Snow Guns, in the region! From the Tower, in and through the Pump House’s four 300HP electric vertical turbine pumps, and out to each workhorse of a Snow Gun. This will ensure the greatest quantity and best quality of snow throughout our campaign!

Snowmaking decisions are based on three primary factors. One, if conditions can be sustained early season. Two, forecasted lows, humidity, and wind. And three, proven knowledge of snowmaking processes, with many years of experience. We know you want to be out on the slopes skiing and snowboarding as early as possible this season, and we want to be there right along with you! Snow Trails wants to provide the best conditions, while also opening just as soon as all factors align.

We will look to stay full-power day and night, as temps allow. Each snow gun can produce a massive amount of snow, with the right conditions. We will update you as our snowmaking campaign continues, heading towards the weekend.
