2nd Annual Swap & Zozo Fest at Snow Trails
A weekend for the family, to support the Ski Patrol.
Mansfield, OH, October 14, 2009: Snow Trails, Ohio's popular ski, snowboard, and snowtubing resort, will host the 2nd Annual Swap & Zozo Fest the weekend of October 30th- November 1st. The weekend festivities will encourage families to enjoy time in the outdoors together and prepare for the coming winter season at the resort.
The Swap will open Friday, October 30th at 5:00PM for those who will register items, such as apparel and equipment, for sale and will be open for the public to begin to browse the selection. Each item registered for the Swap will cost $1, with a 20% sales commission benefitting the non-profit Snow Trails Ski Patrol. Commissions gained from sales will help the Patrol purchase safety equipment and supplies for use during the winter season.
The Patrol will hold a raffle throughout the weekend, which will provide one grand prize. The winner has the choice between a pair of Men's K2 Apache Raider skis with Marker MOD10 binding, a $699 retail value, and a pair of Ladies Rossignol Attraction III skis with IPT binding, also a $699 retail value. Both sets are intermediate all-mountain skis. A second prize winner will have the choice between a Platinum 12 Visit Punch Card, a transferable unlimited pass with 12 redemptions and a value of $245, and a Season Snowtubing Pass, with unlimited tubing anytime, any-day, with a value of $120. A third prize winner will receive two All-Day Lift & Slope Access Tickets, plus two Weekday Unlimited Tubing Tickets, all valued at $134. A fourth prize is one All-Day Lift & Slope Access Ticket, plus one Weekday Unlimited Tubing Ticket, all valued at $67. The raffle drawing will take place Sunday evening following the Swap Weekend. Winners will be notified by phone or email addresses listed on the back of each raffle ticket drawn. Prizes will be available for pick-up at Snow Trails.
The Swap will close at 9:00PM Friday, re-opening the next morning, Saturday, October 31st at 10:00AM. The Swap & Zozo Fest booths will open, along with The Snow Trails Ski Shop, at 10:00AM as well. The Snow Trails Ski Patrol will fire-up the grill, serving their famous bratwurst along with cold adult beverages and sodas beginning at 10:30AM outside the main lodge.
Fest booths will include ski industry exhibitors, whose effort during the winter months help to introduce people to the sport of skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing, while also helping those active in these healthy outdoor winter activities enjoy their experiences to the fullest. One participant, Mike Wagner from SWIX North American Racing Program, recently named official representative to the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics for SWIX, will hold an equipment tuning clinic at the Fest for the second year, from 11:00AM- 4:00PM. Registration is FREE for the clinic and may be made by calling direct to The Snow Trails Ski Shop at (419)756-3105.
Other Fest booths will showcase winter employment opportunities at Snow Trails, Racing programs for the season, The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition (TAASC), and others. A savings of 5%, on select season passes will be available through Saturday, October 31st. Passes will be available for purchase throughout the weekend.
A ski movie showing will take place in The Snowflake Loft at 6:00PM just prior to the Zozo Party. The Last Run Bar will open for beverages, as the Patroller's set-up their grill on the back deck of the main lodge to continue to serve their delicious brats. The Zozobra Bonfire has become a family fun event. The tradition surrounding the burning of the Zozobra is that it brings a snowy ski season to the Possum Run Valley.
The Swap will continue for a third and final day, Sunday, November 1st from 11:00AM until 5:00PM. For those who entered items in the Swap, pick-up of unsold items should take place between 5:00PM and 7:00PM, with payment to sellers for items sold at the same time.
