Snow Trails 5th Annual Tubing Park Benefit for Rehab's New Beginning's and Snow Tubers
Mansfield, OH, January 4, 2011: "Will Tube For Food" will be the benefits theme Monday, January 10th through Thursday, January 13th from 5PM- 9:30PM. Along with a donation of at least one non-perishable food item and the purchase of just one Unlimited Weekday Tubing Ticket for $22, an additional Unlimited Tubing Ticket of the same will be given free and available for use that evening. Unlimited Weekday Tubing Tickets allow tubing from open to close. The food items will be collected at the Vertical Descent Tubing Park's own ticketing hut at Snow Trails, adjacent to the tubing lanes and the brand new Tubing Lodge.
"This is the fifth year running and now an extremely successful benefit," said Nate Wolleson, Snow Trails Marketing Manager. "We want people to come-out and have a blast while supporting this great cause. We're looking for people to say, "That was the most fun I've had making a difference," Wolleson said. "We began the benefit back in 2006, the first year the Park was open, with a one day event offering three Two Hour Tubing Tickets for the price of two. Last year, in hopes to increase the contributions to The Rehab substantially, we extended the food drive and special offer out over four days, Monday through Thursday. This special buy one get one tubing ticket offer is not regularly available in our Snow Tubing Park," said Wolleson.
The Rehab Center of North Central Ohio's New Beginnings Residential Treatment Program will benefit from this event. Clients of the Program receive group and individual counseling, vocational rehabilitation services, family reintegration services, and are supported in developing an investment in a twelve-step recovery program. The food donations will help to serve the programs half-way house. Learn more at www.therehabcenter.org
It is the fifth season for the Snow Trails Vertical Descent Tubing Park. A combined total of over 300 adult, child, and adult double tubes are provided for guests of the park. Park lanes extend 1,100' in length for a thrilling ride. A 500 foot conveyor carpet lift takes riders to the top to choose from six different lanes for descent. For the non-skier it's a great opportunity to enjoy the out-of-doors in winter with family and friends.
Many have enjoyed the Park's brand new Tubing Lodge, offering restrooms, snack bar, seating area, and panoramic views of snow tubers sliding by. Adding to the atmosphere is a park-side viewing area complete with picnic tables, benches, and a fire-ring for warming.
Normal hours of operation include Monday through Thursday 5:00PM- 9:30PM, Friday 5:00PM- Midnight, Saturday 9:00AM- Midnight, and Sunday 9:00AM- 9:30PM. Late Night Snow Tubing will be available until 2:00AM January 7th, 28th, and February 18th, 2011.
Snow Trails, which was the first commercial ski area in Ohio, is "Celebrating 50 years" this season. The privately owned resort has been under the same management since its inception. The resort features six chairlifts, two conveyor carpet lifts (one is utilized for the Tubing Park) and 15 trails plus three terrain parks and glade areas. The resort usually opens in early December and the season lasts into March. The resort is located off Interstate 71 south of Mansfield on Possum Run Road.
