Snow Trails to Open Slopes This Weekend

Snow Trails Winter Resort to offer skiing and snowboarding this weekend, being just the third time to open for Thanksgiving weekend, in the past 52 seasons!
Mansfield, OH, November 29, 2013: Snow Trails early season snowmaking campaign has blanketed the resort with piles and piles of snow, for their fleet of Pisten Bully Snow Cats to go to work on. They will push and groom, prepping the slopes for what they are happy to announce as the start of Snow Trails 53rd Winter Season 2013-'14: Opening Day Saturday, November 30th, 2013 12 O'clock Noon!
Snow Trails Mt. Mansfield Slope, and multiple trails in the Beginner's Area Complex will be open, with additional terrain available as snowmaking continues tonight and throughout the weekend. An Opening Day Jam will offer hiking sessions on terrain park features, at the base of The Woods Terrain Park.
Snow Trails Snow Report will list Lift & Slope Availability each day. Vertical Descent Snow Tubing Park will be unavailable, with additional snowmaking required to construct the Tubing Park lanes of snow. As progress continues, updates will be posted to the resorts website www.SnowTrails.com

Snow Trails, which was the first commercial ski area in Ohio, is a privately owned resort, under the same management since inception. The resort features six chairlifts, including a slow moving Beginner’s Double Chairlift and two newly added ski carpets dedicated to the Beginner's Area Complex, and a third carpet lift utilized for the Snow Tubing Park with the "Longest Tubing Lanes in Ohio." Two new trails were recently added to include Timberline, the “Longest Trail in Ohio,” bringing total trails to 17, with three glade ski areas, plus the addition of a fourth terrain park this season. A 9,000 sq. ft. Rental Center houses user friendly equipment and offers a self service system. The resort typically opens in early December and the season lasts into March.
